Containing the Costs of Multi-Screen Delivery Webinar

The days of Dad, Mom, and kids gathered around TV to watch a show are quickly becoming a thing of the past. Today, Mom is on her laptop, Dad is in the media room, Junior is on the Xbox, and Sissy is viewing her mobile phone. For content providers and system operators, delivering to multiple screens is clearly becoming a priority and will soon be a market necessity.

However, delivering video to all these different screens is a task that’s far from easy. With all the different screen resolutions and network speeds, the number of versions of a video that need to be produced to handle it all is beginning to get out of hand.

In this webinar, we will look at the issue of file proliferation in a multi-screen delivery world. The topics covered will include:

  • How the specific capabilities of networks and CE devices lead to file proliferation
  • The increased costs of delivery associated with so many files
  • How Scalable Video Coding (SVC) – part of the h.264 specification – can reduce the number of files needed to just one
  • The savings SVC can bring to multi-screen video delivery.

Please join Colin Dixon, Senior Partner at TDG, and Andy Beach, Chief Evangelist at Seawell Networks, for this free webinar.
