SeaWell Networks, a leader in intelligent adaptive streaming video solutions, today announced technology executive, John Major, as Chair of its Board of Directors

TORONTO – November 28, 2011 – Today SeaWell Networks announced John Major as Chair of its Board of Directors. SeaWell Networks enables online video delivery through its unique software solutions. Spectrum, a network-based video streaming manager, provides subscriber controls, individualized advertising insertion, reporting and analytics on HTTP Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) video. This powerful set of features enables broadcasters and content owners to leverage new business models to deliver their content Over the Top (OTT).

Mr. Major is President and founder of MTSG, an investment company, and an advisor to Northwater Capital. He has chaired the board of directors at Broadcom since 2008, and serves on the University of California President’s Board on Science and Innovation, the Dean’s Advisory Committee of the University of Rochester Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Science and as Chairman of the University of Illinois at Chicago-Engineering School Advisory Board. Mr. Major also serves as Chairman of the Board of CommNexus, a nonprofit telecom industry group, which includes the highly successful incubator EvoNexus. Prior to his current position, Mr. Major held executive positions with Motorola, Novatel Wireless and Qualcomm.

Mr. Major holds 10 U.S. patents, a B.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Rochester, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, an M.B.A. from Northwestern University and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University.
