Management

Brian Collie
Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Director
As Founder and CEO, Brian is responsible for SeaWell’s overall management and strategic direction of the company, as well as business development and partnership activities.

He is a recognized technology entrepreneur who has started five new businesses in the last fifteen years, including co-founding both SeaWell and Chantry Networks. Chantry is a WLAN (WiFi) equipment provider, named one of Canada’s top 10 High Tech Stars in 2002 by the National Post and acquired by Siemens AG in January 2005. While with Siemens, Brian held the role of Senior VP, Business Development and established a new HD Video Conferencing Business Unit. Prior to Chantry, Brian co-founded the first Internet division at Nortel Networks and started their first VoIP business unit. Both of these divisions contributed significant revenue growth for Nortel. Brian has also held positions at Motorola’s Internet and Data Networking Group and started his career with Bell Canada.

Brian holds a B.Sc. in Honors Physics from the University of Waterloo and a M.Sc. in Systems Science from the University of Ottawa. He is in high demand in the tech community, where he spends time sharing his vision and experience with young and aspiring entrepreneurs.


Robert Myers
Founder, Chief Technology Officer and Director
As Founder and CTO, Bob is responsible for setting the company’s technology direction and promoting ongoing innovation.

Bob has extensive experience in launching new businesses, building and executing product strategies, managing M&A activities, and developing OEM relationships. He has defined successful high-revenue product strategies for dial access, IP-VPN, VoIP, wireless LANs and video conferencing portfolios. Along with Brian Collie, Bob co-founded Chantry Networks and served as CTO, pioneering the evolution of wireless LAN solutions. After the acquisition of Chantry by Siemens, Bob served as VP of Emerging Solutions at Siemens Enterprise. Bob also helped found several key new businesses at Nortel Networks including the first program to address VoIP for carriers and the first initiative to directly address the Internet Service Provider market. While with Nortel he held several senior positions in product management and architecture, leading product strategy efforts.

Bob holds a BSEE degree from the University of Waterloo. He holds a number of patents on networking technologies, and his work has garnered two “Best of Shows” awards at Network World/Interop.


Kerri Golden
Chief Operating Officer
Kerri is responsible for SeaWell’s operations and finance, with a focus on significantly scaling the business and attracting the necessary investment capital to support that growth.

During her career, Kerri has helped launch and grow several technology businesses and has raised over $1 billion in equity and debt financing. She has served on the boards of several high tech start-ups in the wireless, IT and communications sector and successfully negotiated several M&A transactions. Kerri joins SeaWell from Primaxis Technology Ventures, an early-stage venture fund with investments in the information technology field, including Chantry Networks. Prior to Primaxis, Kerri was the CFO for content producer and distributor Alliance Atlantis. Prior to Alliance Atlantis, she held various positions at Bell Mobility, serving as CEO of the Paging Business Unit and VP, Finance for publicly-traded BCE Mobile.

Kerri obtained her Chartered Accountant designation while with KPMG and holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. She serves the community in the role of business mentor for first-time technology entrepreneurs.


Andy Beach
VP of Marketing & Product Management
Andy Beach is Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at SeaWell Networks. He drives company and product messaging, promotes the company’s groundbreaking technology, and closely monitors customer and industry needs. With his finger on the pulse of the industry, Andy ensures that SeaWell Networks’ offerings provide the solutions customers seek.

Recognized as a respected industry voice, Andy has contributed articles to popular industry media outlets like FierceOnlineVideo, and also authored Real World Video Compression, a book that explains the world of video in plain English. In 2011, Andy was named to Streaming Media’s All Star List and led SeaWell Networks to its first Red Herring Top 100 North America award.

Having worked with industry giants like Microsoft, Apple and Adobe, Andy brings significant experience in the online video industry. He has both a deep understanding of the technology behind smart and effective video delivery, and expertise in product strategy and marketing, video compression and rich media solutions. His knowledge of video post-production, compression and interactive design adds to his depth and breadth of knowledge about the video space.

Before joining SeaWell Networks, Andy worked in product marketing for a variety of respected video and technology companies. Including roles, he served as the director of product marketing and support at Inlet Technologies, where he oversaw the creation of Armada, an automated media processing solution encompassing analysis and transcoding and Spinnaker, one of the most popular live encoders on the market.

He has a B.F.A. in film and video from the Savannah College of Art and Design.


Paul Nielsen
Vice President of Sales

As Vice President of Sales, Paul is responsible for SeaWell Network’s Worldwide Sales and field operations.

Paul has over 17 years of experience in the CATV and Service Provider industry. Prior to joining SeaWell Networks Paul was the Regional Vice President of Sales for Verivue, Inc., and was responsible for sales of Verivue’s CDN platform to the North American service providers. Prior to Verivue, Inc., Paul was the Senior Vice President of Distribution for PlayDayTV, and was responsible for carriage of PlayDayTV’s interactive Casual Games channel for the CATV market, Prior to PlayDayTV Paul spent over 12 years at SeaChange International, the industry pioneer in digital ad-insertion and interactive applications such as VOD where Paul held several management roles. Paul departed SeaChange International as the Vice President of Sales for the America’s and was responsible for the sales of SeaChange’s Ad-insertion, VOD and broadband interactive applications to the CATV and Service Providers throughout North, Central and South America. Prior to the America’s was the Director of Sales for Latin America where Paul was responsible for SeaChange’s Broadcast, Broadband and CATV products sales. Paul also was the Director of Technical Sales for the Asia Pacific market responsible for establishing distribution and system integrator partnerships throughout the region.

Paul holds a BA in Liberal Studies from the University of Massachusetts.


Jeff Geiser
VP Business Development
Jeff is responsible for overseeing and evaluating strategic business opportunities and partnerships that support SeaWell Networks’ overall go-to-market strategy.

Jeff has over 15 years of business development and technology sales experience. Prior to joining SeaWell Networks, Jeff was the global Director of Business Development at Keynote Systems and was responsible for the overall strategy of the streaming media and voice-over-IP business units. Before joining Keynote Systems he worked for Akamai for five years and last served as the Director of the North American Technical Consulting organization. He has also held leadership positions with Covad, UUNET and CompuServe.

Jeff holds an MBA from Cox School of Business at SMU and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University.


Ram Ranganathan
Director, Development
Ram leads the development team and is responsible for the design, development and quality assurance of SeaWell’s products.

Ram has over 10 years of experience in leading teams through the full product cycle from concept, architecture, design and development through quality assurance, pre-sales and customer on-site support. He joins SeaWell from Borderware Technologies, where he was Software Development Manager, Security Protocols and Proxies. Prior to Borderware, Ram served as Technical Lead, Infrastructure and Control Plane at Chantry Networks, a Siemens Company and started his development career at C-Plane Inc. in the Protocols and Adaptors Group, originally in Sunnyvale, CA and then in Montreal, Quebec.

Ram holds an M.S., Computer Engineering from the University of Kansas, a B.Eng in Electronics and Communications from Anna University, Madras, India and a Diploma in Software Technology and Systems Management from National Institute of Information Technology, Madras, India.
